Details of our Caravan

Our caravan is made by Bushtracker in Queensland.  It is an outback capable caravan with a reputation for quality and toughness.  You can learn more about Bushtracker by visiting their website:   http://www.bushtracker.com/

The Caravan is 20 feet long and has a full Queen size bed, raised up so that there is storage space below it.

The kitchen area has a four burner gas stove with grill and oven.  The fridge is 190 litre capacity with a separate freezer.

The sink is full size, and we have five 90 litre water tanks, one for potable water and the other four for use in the kitchen and en suite bathroom.  The table is our dining room and office.

The van has four solar panels on the roof and four sealed batteries in vented compartments under the seats.  If the day is cloudy, the batteries can also be charged by 240 volt [from a power supply or generator] using the battery charger located under the seats.

This panel is basically the control centre, with the solar regulator top left, and the inverter [to produce 240 volt from the 12volt DC batteries] on the top right.

The van also has a radio, DVD and Television.

Internet comes from a Telstra Next G mobile signal and the Big Pond modem acts as a wireless network for all our computers.  Beside the Big Pond Modem is our Voice Over Internet Phone which gives us full time telephone using a standard phone handset.  It is a very good system.

The Toyota Landcruiser is set up with Kangaroo Bars [hopefully we will not need them] and a snorkel to allow water crossings and also essential to keep dust out of the air cleaners as this photo of us driving through "bull dust" demonstrates.
