Travel from Darwin to Port Lincoln was quite a trip for 6 days although we met a Road Train driver in his caravan who drove Adelaide to Darwin in 3 and a half days!!

Along South Australia's western coast [Oyster heaven] and then the Nullabor Plain [Australia's longest strait road] the Goldfields and on to Perth.

We loved the south west corner of WA and visited it twice. The Margaret River wineries, historic Albany and Cape le Grand National Park our home for almost a month!

This magnificent coast, the Albrohos Islands, the mines, the gorges of Karijini [a memory shared with Bill and Jane], Steep Point via the Useless Loop Road, Australia's most westerly point and Broome, pearl town.

The glorious Kimberly's including Cape Leveque, Mornington Wildnerness, Mt Hart, the Mitchell Plateau and on to the Ord River Scheme.

[11] 2010.09.22 to 2010.10.31 Darwin to Mooloolaba


Through Boraloola, Hells Gate, on [yes that dirt road with river crossings is] Highway 1, Normanton, Karumba, the rainforests and great coffee of the Atherton tablelands, Cairns and down the coast to Kunda Park.  We are around Australia!!

A visit to Sidsel, some of the lesser known NSW coastal towns and Australia's easternmost point.

A long drive to the top of Australia, to the northernmost point.  Lots of unmade road and 99,000,785 corrugations later.  But worth the trip.
